The Nanjing Lukou International Airport is expected to handle 24,800 flights and transport about 3.28 million passengers during the annual Spring Festival travel rush. In particular, the number of newly opened or increased flights to international, regional and domestic destinations will reach nearly 1,000.
The Jiangsu branch of China Eastern Airlines plans to add regular flights from Nanjing to Fuzhou, Bangkok and Phuket, Taipei from January 21 to March 1. It will also launch charter flights to Taipei, Kaohsiung, Chiang Mai, Cebu and Yangon from January 31.
The Juneyao Airlines is scheduled to add flights from Nanjing to Chengdu, Changchun and Xiangyang from January 18 to February 17.
The China Southern Airlines has launched the Nanjing-Yinchuan-Urumqi route from December 28 and it will run until March 30.
The VietJet Air of Vietnam plans to launch the Phu Quoc-Nanjing-Phu Quoc round trip flights from February 2 to 14, and the Da Nang-Nanjing-Da Nang round trip flights from January 25 to February 14.
The Donghai Airlines is to operate the Nanjing-Mandalay round trip flights from January 31.
Lanmei Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines will start the Nanjing-Siem Reap and Nanjing-Phnom Penh round trip flights respectively from February 1.
