Lawmakers from regional delegations joined panel discussion on Tuesday to review the government work report delivered by Governor Wu Zhenglong at the opening ceremony of the annual session of the Provincial People’s Congress.
Deputies from Yangzhou, Nantong and Changzhou noted that the government work report fully embodies the integration of the latest requirements of the Party Central Committee and the actual development of Jiangsu, and reflects the six priorities for high-quality development. They argued that the provincial party committee and the provincial government should give more care and support in the rise of the central axis and the introduction of major industrial projects, further attach importance to the development of the private economy, and introduce more detailed and pragmatic policies in tax reduction and fee reduction, financing assistance, and targeted support.
The deputies from Zhenjiang, Taizhou and the PLA argued that the government work report elaborates on the development with data and facts, and set forth the target tasks with detailed requirements, reflecting the province’s responsibility of contributing to the development of the country. They recommended that the province should highlight the construction of a modern economic system, attach importance to the role of scientific and technological innovation, adhere to market orientation, and cultivate more terminal enterprises and brands, do a good job in the integration of military and civilian development and the placement of retired military personnel.
