Regional governments in Jiangsu province are endeavoring for higher goals in 2019 as the annual sessions of the local people’s congress and the CPPCC are ready to take place in late January.
In 2018, Zhenjiang is expected to achieve a regional GDP of 405 billion yuan. In the new year, Zhenjiang will unswervingly promote the industry-empowered development approach, accelerate the promotion of 178 key industrial projects such as the high-end intelligent pure electric vehicle project between Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., Ltd. or BAIC Group and Magna International and new modes, new industries and new businesses such as sharing economy, digital economy, bio-economy, and modern supply chain.
In 2019, Zhenjiang is expected to register an annual growth of more than 6.5% in its GDP. The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents will keep pace with the city’s economic growth.
In 2018, Yangzhou is expected to post an annual growth of about 7% in its GDP. In the new year, Yangzhou will focus on advanced manufacturing, modern agriculture, bio-health, new materials and other fields, and focus on cultivating 50 software products with independent intellectual property rights. It will also strive to introduce 100 talents or teams in innovation and entrepreneurship, 100 outstanding doctoral degree holders, and 100 vice presidents for science and technology.
In 2019, Yangzhou is expected to register an annual growth of 7% in its GDP and an annual growth of 8% in its residents’ per capita disposable income.
In 2018, Suqian is expecting an annual growth of 6.5% in its GDP. In the new year, Suqian will focus on the construction of "a beautiful lakeside city, a vibrant entrepreneurial city, and a livable city where the people are satisfied" by vigorously promoting the construction of the "five large areas" in the east, west, south, north and middle part of the city, enhancing the carrying capacity and driving force of the central city, make full use of the advantages of water resources and accelerate the construction of a beautiful city integrating the harmonious co-existence of water, city and people.
In 2019, Suqian is expected to increase its GDP by more than 6.5% and the per capita disposable income of residents by about 8.5%. It will also basically complete the task of poverty alleviation for rural low-income population.
