A six-month fishing ban came into force over Shaobo Lake on the first day of 2019.The Shaobo Lake Fishery Supervision Detachment carried out a joint enforcement action and released fish fry in batches to ensure the sustainable development of the lake area.

The fishing ban starts at 0:00 on January 1 and ends at 12:00 in the midnight of May 31. During this period, no one will be allowed to enter the lake to engage in fishing. In order to strengthen law enforcement, Shaobo Lake Fishery Supervision Detachment uses advanced means such as drones to control the lake surface to ensure that fishing ban is in place.

During the fishing ban, the fishery administration will release more than 75 million kinds of fry in batches to ensure the sustainable development of the lake area. The ban on fishing not only ensures better breeding of fish, but also steadily increases the income of fishermen.

According to statistics, after the fishing ban was lifted over Shaobo Lake on June 1, 2018, the output of green shrimp and white shrimp increased by about 15% compared with the same period of 2017. In 2018, the fishing catch of Shaobo Lake is expected to exceed 120,000 tons, an increase of more than 10% over 2017.
