The CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee held a briefing Wednesday morning to inform the leading officials of the non-communist parties on the government work report that is to be delivered at the annual provincial legislative session and the work plan for the next year. Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, presided over the briefing.
The provincial chairpersons of the non-communist parties said since last year, Jiangsu has achieved a good start in its high-quality development by adhering to the guidance of Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on Jiangsu's work, following the general tone of making progress while maintain stability, and practicing the new development concept.
They also put forth proposals concerning the strengthening of the brick-and-mortar economy, building an independent and controllable modern industrial system, developing the digital economy, accelerating the transformation and development of kinetic energy, boosting the construction of the "Belt and Road", promoting the military-civilian integrated development, giving full play to rural revitalization, launching the healthy Jiangsu campaign, developing private economy, boosting the development of world class universities and academic disciplines, improving people's livelihood and strengthening the government's functions.
Wu Zhenglong said the provincial government will take into consideration the proposals so as to revise and improve the "Government Work Report". He hoped the non-communist parties, industry and commerce associations and non-CPC personages will continue to support the work of the government as they always did in the past.
The Governor also expressed his sincere hope that the non-communist parties will follow the decision-making policies of the CPC Central Committee and the work plan of the CPC Provincial Committee and the provincial government and contribute their opinions for the creation of a better environment for the province’s social and economic development and high quality development.
