At 8 am Tuesday, Jiangyin, China's well-known manufacturing county, welcomed a spectacular New Year's Day hike. More than 5,000 people from all walks of life of government organs, enterprises and institutions of Jiangyin had a hike on Jiangyin Green Airway to bring in a new year of 2019.
The first green and ecological road in Jiangsu Province, Jiangyin Green Airway has the total length of 5.4 kilometers, of which 4.1 kilometers is overhead section with the widest part of 8.5 meters and the narrowest 5.5 meters. This green road is an all-steel structure elevated walkway and built along the city ecological scenic spots and a number of historical and cultural attractions. Using 12,000 tons of steel and involving eight urban flyover bridges, it was designed by Australian designers and built by China Construction Steel Structure Co., Ltd.
Building it into the first ringroad around the city of Jiangsu Province, designers have installed barrier-free elevators and access roads at all junctions, and every section of the road is equipped with modular seats that can accommodate more than 400 people at the same time.
