The Jiangnan Context Forum was officially opened Monday morning and 86 books were released on the scene as the early achievements.
Li Xiaomin, member of Standing Committee of Jiangsu provincial committee and Secretary of Wuxi Municipal Committee; Wang Yanwen, member of standing committee of Jiangsu provincial committee, Minister of Publicity Department of Jiangsu provincial Party committee, presented books to representatives of the National Library, Fudan University Library, Zhejiang University Library, Anhui University Library, Nanjing University Library, Jiangsu Academy of Social Sciences Library and Jiangnan University Library.
Jiangsu enjoys a profound history of cultures with many cultural classics and great writers. The project of "Jiangnan Context Archiving and Researching " was launched in 2016 and is expected to reach a significant stage by the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan, and end in 2025, lasting for 10 years.
"Jiangsu Library", as the final result, includes paper and digital versions of about 3,000 copies. The contents of the bibliography are comprehensive, and the scale of it exceeds that of any book of the same kind that has been compiled or is being compiled, striving to build a lively, rich, and exclusive cultural space.
Jiangsu Library has six parts - bibliography, literature, essence, local chronicles, historical materials and research. The first three parts belong to basic literature and are published by photocopy. The last three parts are the research works or the research collation works and are published by typography. The collection is not only the integration of all kinds of literature and historical materials about Jiangsu, but also the fusion of the traditional literature arrangement and modern academic research. It is not only the complete collection of Jiangsu literature and ancient books, but also the collection of representative cultural achievements. The collection is consisted of both the written works of scholars and the local historical records, which is one step ahead of the coverage and comprehensiveness of the local chronicles.
