The National New Farmers New Technology Entrepreneurship Innovation Forum went underway Thursday in Nanjing. Lou Qinjian, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, delivered a speech. Han Changfu, Director of the Central Agricultural Office and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, addressed the opening ceremony. The event is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Office of the Central Cyberspace Commission and the Jiangsu Provincial Government.
Lou Qinjian said that General Secretary Xi Jinping is very concerned about Jiangsu's agriculture, rural affairs and farmers by making a series of important instructions, adding that we always keep in mind the General Secretary’s instructions, insist on promoting the high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas and strive to promote the province’s rural revitalizationfor it to rank in the forefront of the country.
He stressed that more and more new rural communities are expected to gather momentum in the countryside so as to enable the traditional villages renew their vitality, and empower the land of Jiangsu with the beauty of mountains and rivers, and open up the rural beauty of Jiangsu in the new era.
The CPC Provincial chief said we must make every effort to create a fair and equitable market environment, and let all kinds of innovative and entrepreneurial resources play a role in promoting farmers' income growth, adding that it is necessary to seize the historic opportunity of technological change, give full play to the power of science and technology, promote the modernization of agricultural production methods, and open up a new situation in the province’s agricultural sector in a new era.
Lou Qinjian noted that we will take this exhibition as an opportunity to let the science and technology factors produce more vivid flowers in the fields of hope, so that the seeds of entrepreneurship and innovation will bear more fruit on the vast land of Jiangsu.
Han Changfu said that Jiangsu takes the lead in the country in the development of its economy and modern agriculture, and its regional innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities rank among the best in the country, proving valuable experiences for other regions to follow.
The minister noted that China will strive to develop new forms of new industries in rural entrepreneurship, apply new technologies and new models, measure up rural entrepreneurial innovations with the information fast trains, build new platforms and new carriers, accelerate rural entrepreneurial innovations, and rely on new types of farmers and new entities to cultivate rural entrepreneurial innovation and improve the new mechanism of interest linkage so as to ensure that more small rural households will share the benefits of rural entrepreneurship innovation,strive to create an upgraded version of rural entrepreneurship and innovation, and make new and greater contributions to the implementation of rural revitalization strategy and acceleration of agricultural and rural modernization.
Lou Qinjian and Han Changfu visited the exhibitions to learn more about the achievements of new farmers' entrepreneurial innovation, the use of new technologies such as information, biology and engineering in agriculture, and ecological agriculture, creative agriculture, and agricultural Internet of Things.They also exchanged with the entrepreneurial and innovative farmers from all over the country, hoping that they would make full use of the Expo as a platform to realize the dream of entrepreneurial innovation.
Yu Xinrong, vice minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, presided over the forum. Zhang Jinghua, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee, Ye Zhenqin, deputy governor of Guangdong Province, and outstanding representatives of rural entrepreneurship innovation spoke at the forum.
