The launching ceremony of “Hi jiangsu” activity kicked off Tuesday afternoon. Media practitioners from over ten nationalities gathered together in Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu province and are going to start a one-week trip around Jiangsu and know about Jiangsu from the unique perspective of a journalist and foreigner. Wang Yanwen, member of standing committee of Jiangsu provincial committee, Minister of Publicity Department of Jiangsu provincial Party committee, attended the ceremony.
The launching ceremony of this event was hosted in Tea House of Nanjing Museum. Wang Yanwen, member of standing committee of Jiangsu provincial committee, Minister of Publicity Department of Jiangsu provincial Party committee; and Zhou Shuchun, member of the standing committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, President and Chief Editor of China Daily were present at the ceremony. Nearly 30 media practitioners from 18 media units of 15 countries and regions were also present, expected to have a one-week trip to different cities across Jiangsu and have their own interviews to understand further about local cultures and overall development.
Yang Liqun, vice Minister of Publicity Department of Jiangsu provincial Party committee delivered a speech, extending his warm welcome and giving a general introduction to this activity.
Jointly hosted by Information Office of the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and China Daily, Hi Jiangsu started in 2015 to enable more foreign friends to learn about China and Jiangsu. More than 10 overseas media outlets each year are invited to visit Jiangsu and cover the province on the themes of people's livelihoods, scientific and technological innovation, ecological civilization and cultural heritage. The 4th edition of Go Jiangsu is simultaneously held in Nanjing and Yangzhou, eight overseas Twitter fans will be invited to join the exploration of historical cities of Jiangsu.
