When visiting the Xuwei New Area Petrochemical Industry Park, Lou Qinjian made careful inquiry into the development, planning and the settlement of enterprises, speaking highly of Lianyungang’s practice of regulating illegal chemical enterprises in accordance with the law, promoting the construction of major projects, and upgrading the industrial level.
He stressed that major projects are the top priority of Lianyungang's industrial restructuring, adding that on the basis of maintaining the bottom line of stability, security, ecology and clean government, we must do everything possible to accelerate the construction and development of major projects such as petrochemicals and medicines by taking advantage of its advantages in geographical location and openness so that late-comer advantages become the competitive advantage of high-quality development.
Eco-environmental protection is not only related to the province’s high quality development, but also to the vital interests of the people.
During his inspection tour in Lianyungang, Lou Qinjian made on-site investigation of the water pollution prevention and control, demanding that systematic management should be carried out through comprehensive means such as upstream ecological wetland purification, rain and sewage diversion, and ecological water replenishment.
The CPC Provincial chief stressed that it is necessary to make a complete regulation on the chemical parks in Guannan and Guanyun as an important turning point for Lianyungang to prioritize ecological and green development by enhancing political stance, strengthening the responsibility system and taking solid measures to promote the rectification work.
In particular, coastal industrial zones should do a good job in system planning, scientific and rational layout, and effectively improve environmental protection and safety standards so as to promote industrial restructuring and corporate transformation and upgrading, he said.
When inspecting the Blue Bay West Bay scenic area, Lou Qinjian learned in detail about the landscape environment construction, the use of modern ecological technologies and the sources of funds, stressing that it is necessary to make overall scientific planning and demonstrations of coastal ecological coastlines through orderly advancement of coastal demonstration projects while increasing the scientific use of unique resources such as hot springs, and strive to achieve a tourist season throughout the year.
Lou also inspected Liandao and hoped that Lianyungang would seize the historic opportunity of the Belt and Road development and regard tourism as an important starting point for expanding the two-way opening and optimization of industrial structure, fully tapping the history and culture, and intensifying the integration of resources so as to enableits rich tourism resources to produce more economic and social benefits and add unique charm to its urban development to make Lianyungang more desired.
Lou Qinjian fully affirmed the development and changes of Lianyungang in recent years, and asked authorities in Lianyungang to study Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, continue to promote the emancipation of the mind, focus on the overall development of the country, maintain a high degree of acute sensitivity, transcend the traditional development path, and strengthen the awareness of independent development and self-planning so as to become committed to building it into an influential regional development center, a key industrial center, and an integrated transportation hub by tapping into its location of being the meeting point of the Belt and Roadinitiative.
