A gala event to highlight and promote the opening of Israel Pavilion at the China International Import Expo was hosted Monday evening by the Consulate General of Israel in Shanghai. It was also an occasion to promote more business and innovation cooperation between China and Israel.
Taking place in JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai Changfeng Park, this gala event welcomed the company of OfirAkunis, Israeli Minister of Science and Technology; Ms. TamanoShataPnina，Israeli National Parliament Member；Dr. Eyal Propper, Consul General of Israel in Shanghai; other officials from Israel and Shanghai, and representatives from media units. Embracing the event of CIIE, Mr. Akunis was looking forward to more cooperation between China and Israel.
Spending almost a year on this exhibition, Israel focuses on innovation as the theme and brings ten top companies to 2018 CIIE covering the industries of equipment, food, medical and diamond. The dynamic full line supplier of precision carbide metal working tools,ISCAR; the world’s largest kosher food manufacturer,Tnuva; and other two large-scale Israeli companies G Medical innovationand Emilia Cosmetics are all at the exhibition.
Having established diplomatic ties in 1992, China and Israel have shared a long relationship. In recent years, the amount of bilateral trade and investment between the two sides has been increasing. China is now Israel's largest trading partner in Asia and the third largest trading partner in the world, with bilateral trade exceeding $13 billion in 2017. After Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan paid a visit to Israel this October, bilateral ties between China and Israel have reached new highs.
