More and more universities in Nanjing City have offered academic programs in countries along the “Belt and Road” initiative, which usually lack of quality education resources.

The undergraduate program between Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and Rangsit University, Thailand started enrolling students last year. The PhD program with Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Academy of Chinese Medicine, Singapore also admitted 24 students this year. The undergraduate program with the University of Makati in the Philippines plans to enroll students next year.

Nanjing Institute of Industry Technology will elevate the training courses in Zambia to academic program early next year, allowing local students to get a diploma after graduation. Working with China Nonferrous Metal Mining Group for three years, the institute has opened several courses in Zambia. Furthermore, the institute also cooperated with the Cambodian enterprises to improve employees’ technical levels.

In Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of the Congo, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics reached an agreement with the country’s education authorities in this September, pledging to open a school of civil aviation education and help train pilots.

At the end of last year, leaders of Nanjing University also visited the Cairo University in Egypt and signed a memorandum of inter-school cooperation. The two sides agreed to carry out all-round cooperation in personnel training, research and cultural exchange in fields including environmental archaeology and African geography research.

In addition, Jiangsu Maritime Vocational Institute and Bangladesh also jointly established the “Maritime Education Platform” and cooperated with the Bangladesh Institute of Marine Technology to educate shipping talents.
