On the afternoon of September 26, the Jiangsu Provincial Government held the award ceremony for 20 winners of the 2018 “Jiangsu Friendship Award” in Nanjing City.
More than 100,000 foreign talents have come to work in Jiangsu each year as the province keeps improving the policy for attracting overseas professionals.
Award winner Eelko Brinkhoff, Director of Foreign Investment & Trade at the Brabant Development Agency (BOM) in the Netherlands, has organized many high-level and economic and trade delegates from the province of Brabant to visit Jiangsu since 2004, held activities to promote pragmatic cooperation in trade and investment, and made important contributions to the cooperation between two provinces.
Professor Marcel Stive, who works at Nanjing-based Hohai University, said that he will do his utmost to establish long-term cooperation between water conservancy and water resources institutions in Jiangsu and the Netherlands, help address the water-related challenges brought by climate change from technical and academic approaches, and train a new generation of engineers and scientists who can make a difference in this area.
The “Jiangsu Friendship Award” is the highest award given by the provincial government to foreign experts working in Jiangsu. So far, 285 foreign experts have won this distinguished honor.
