The Heyang folk song is an original ecological ballad form created by laborers in the south region of Zhangjiagang city.
Zhangjiagang, a beautiful port city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province is home to many historical cultural heritages including Pingtan Opera, Heyang folk song, and Heyang treasure scrolls.
To carry forward the excellent intangible cultural heritage, the city’s government is to host a contest themed around intangible cultural heritage design.
Participating object:
The competition is available to individuals, students, independent studios, enterprises or social organizations that have original design skills or are interested in intangible cultural heritage design.
Work requirements:
Works should take Zhangjiagang intangible heritage projects as the prototypes to highlight creativity and the characteristics of Zhangjiagang culture. They can range from arts and crafts like carving, ceramics or dyeing to graphic design works like posters or illustrations and recordings that capture folk craftsmanship.
