The 13th session of Provincial People’s Congress held its 17th meeting of chairpersons Thursday afternoon in Nanjing.
Chen Zhenning, executive deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, presided over the meeting. Deputy Director Xing Chunning, Liu Handong, Qu Futian, and Secretary-General Chen Mengmeng attended the meeting.
The meeting conveyed the spirit of the speech made by Chairman Li Zhanshu at a recent symposium on the promotion of legislation at the regional level.
The meeting pointed out that Chairman Li’s important speech made arrangements and put forward requirements for promoting legislation at the regional level in the new era to keep pace with the times and improve development.
The meeting urged the people of Jiangsu to profoundly understand and implement the spirit of the speech, constantly improve the political position in the regional legislation, and resolutely implement the important exposition of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the legislative work.
The meeting also called for strengthening demand orientation, promoting legislation in key areas, and making regional legislation better reflect the decision-making opinions of the central and provincial party committees, adapt to the practical needs of high-quality development, and strive to enhance the people's sense of acquisition, sense of security and sense of happiness from the rule of law.
