Sutong GIL shiled tunnel project, which is the 1,000 kV AC UHV power transmission and transformation project of Huainan-Nanjing-Shanghai, was offcially completed at 9:08 Tuesday morning.
Sutong GIL Project is the first in the world to adopt UHV GIL technology in key transmission channels. The total length of the 1000 kV GIL pipeline is nearly 35 km. It is an ultra-long-distance GIL project with the highest voltage grade, the largest transmission capacity and the highest technical level in the world. It has created many world records in the history of power engineering construction and tunnel shield construction.
Sutong GIL Project is the key node of UHV AC Loop Operation in East China. After the project is completed, the Huainan-Nanjing-Shanghai Project will be connected with the Huainan-Wannan-Shanghai Project, which has already been put into operation. The East China UHV AC Network, which runs through Provinces like Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, will be completed by then. This is also the world's first UHV AC double-ring network, and it will greatly enhance the power capability and improve the safe operation of the power grid.
At the same time, it can reduce 100 million tons of coal for power generation, 480,000 tons of sulfur dioxide, 470,000 tons of nitrogen oxides and 60,000 tons of soot per year.
The project witnessed an important technological innovation in the field of UHV transmission by using 1000 kV GIL pipeline laid in tunnel to cross the Yangtze River. It provides a new direction for UHV and EHV transmission, and has important innovation and display significance.
