People in Suzhou love reading and now they have a better place to enjoy this hobby. The first Zhongban Bookshop across the nation is officially opened in Phoenix Plaza in Suzhou Industrial Park.
With the joint investment of China Publishing Group and Jiangsu Phoenix Group, this bookshop has collected many "Community Treasures" from 23 publishing houses of China Publishing Group at present. Publishing houses, bookstores and consumer-linked social shops will offer new excesses of reading for the public.
In addition to bringing the public closer to reading, this bookshop will also serve as a practical base for publishers, letting the editors and working staff in publishing industry get more contact and experience with the market and with readers and work out more favorite books.
Suzhou continues to promote the construction of "book-concentrated city", and encourages more citizens to read. In 2017, the book sales volume of Suzhou ranked eighth in the country, and the first in the province.
