According to Nanjing Customs, in the first seven months of this year, Jiangsu achieved import and export of 2.40739 trillion yuan ($349 billion), a year-on-year increase of 8.7 percent and 14.4 percent of China's total foreign trade during the same period.
Jiangsu’s exports rose to 1.44945 trillion yuan, up 6.6 percent year-on-year, and this accounted for 16.3 percent of China's exports, 0.4 percentage points higher.
The imports of 957.94 billion yuan saw a 12.2 percent year-on-year growth, accounting for 12.2 percent of the country’s imports, about the same proportion as in the last report.
From January to July, Jiangsu’s imports from the EU, the United States, ASEAN, South Korea and Japan reached 386.16 billion yuan, 382.43 billion yuan, 283.87 billion yuan, 280.39 billion yuan and 219.39 billion yuan respectively. The import and export with the five trading partners accounted for 64.5 percent of Jiangsu’s total foreign trade.
Jiangsu's import and export to three countries along the “Belt and Road” - Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh and Qatar- rose to 21.06 billion yuan, 14.03 billion yuan and 7.78 billion yuan respectively, up 19.7 percent, 15.3 percent and 55.1 percent in order.
