Standing members of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and CPC secretaries of the prefectural cities gathered Monday and Tuesday for a theory-discussing meeting to exchange views on the difficulties and problems encountered in the process of the work, sum up the experiences and propose measures that need to be strengthened.
The meeting was presided over by Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.
Wu Zhenglong, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and governor of Jiangsu, attended the meeting.
Huang Lixin, chairwoman of the Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, was also present at the meeting.
The meeting stressed that it is necessary to adhere to Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics as a guide, act in accordance with the requirements of the CPC Central Committee and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the work of Jiangsu, grasp the goal of making the province’s high-quality development at the forefront of the country, maintain a clear mind, and follow the law of development so as to take a more solid step for Jiangsu's high-quality development.
The participants touched upon such issues as the independent controllable industrial system, advanced manufacturing industry, private economy, provincial capital function, national independent innovation demonstration zone in southern Jiangsu, the province’s role of being the intersection of the Belt and Road initiative and high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
Through extensive and in-depth discussions, the participants further deepened reached consensus on ideological understanding, clarified the development ideas, clarified the directions where they should make efforts, and strengthened the confidence.
In his speech, Wu Zhenglong demanded that the province maintains a stable and healthy economic development, promote high-quality development in the forefront under the guidance of Xi Jinping’s new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and conscientiously implement the major decision-making arrangements of the central government.
