A student team named Yuanhang (meaning ‘voyage’) from the NUST Taizhou Institute of Science and Technology won four first prizes, two second prizes, three third prizes and one excellence prize at 2018 RoboWork recently held in Wuhan City.
Participants in the match are required to design a small walking biped robot to imitate human participants in track and field events. The success depends on the robot’s walking speed and distance. More than 140 teams participated the match, with Yuanhang’s robot completing all moves including standing, walking straight and rolling to win the championship.
The NUST Taizhou Institute of Science and Technology has added the new major of Robotics Engineering this year and plans to admit students starting in the autumn semester.
