A photo exhibition was held Thursday in Nanjing to mark the tenth anniversary of the devastating Wenchuan Earthquake.
The special theme exhibition under the title of 10 Years of Development and Rejuvenation Achievements of Mianzhu City since the May 12 2008 Devastating Earthquake was inaugurated in Nanjing Phoenix Plaza.
In the wake of the Wenchuan Earthquake, Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government made acute response to the call from the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to reach out to the quake victims in post-quake relief and rehabilitation efforts by investing 11 billion yuan through 295 aid projects to help Mianzhu recover from the rubbles.
The exhibition is organized in six parts, with more than 100 pictures to showcase through a panoramic perspective Jiangsu's targeted assistance to the reconstruction of Mianzhu and vividly display the decade-long endeavors to rebuild and rejuvenate Mianzhu.
The exhibition is organized by the Mianzhu Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government and co-organized by the Jiangsu Phoenix Publishing & Media Group.
On May 12, 2008, the magnitude-8.0 quake that hit Wenchuan of Sichuan killed more than 69,000 people and left nearly 18,000 missing and millions homeless.
