Some 100 leading cultural creation firms from Jiangsu showed up at the 14th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair that was kicked off in Shenzhen on Thursday with cultural cooperation between Belt and Road countries expected to reach a higher level.
Huang Kunming, Politburo member, the Secretary of the Central Secretariat, and Minister of the CPC Publicity Department, Nie Chenxi Deputy Minister of the CPC Publicity Department and Director General of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television visited the Jiangsu exhibition venues accompanied by Wang Yanwen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Provincial CPC Publicity Department.
This is the 14th consecutive year for Jiangsu-based enterprises to participate in the International Cultural Industries Fair. Located in Hall 1 of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, the Jiangsu exhibition area covers an area of 330 square meters. It is based on the theme of "promoting the development of high-quality culture in Jiangsu Province and the construction of new Jiangsu Province under the guidance of innovation with convergence as its connotation and cross-border as the means to demonstrate Jiangsu's thought, temperature and quality of the cultural and creative products.
The exhibition focused on Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, Phoenix Group, Jiangsu Cable TV, Jiangsu Cultural Investment Management Group and such fields as cultural science and technology, cultural and tourism integration, innovation of intangible cultural heritages, red cultural creation and the overseas promotion of the regional culture.
Nanjing, Xuzhou and Nantong also set up separate exhibition halls. Xuzhou used this year's ICIF to promote its cultural industries and signed a total of 10 projects with a contracted amount of 22.87 billion yuan.
Spanning 105,000 square meters, the fair saw more than 2,300 exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions across the world showcasing their cultural resources and developments.
The cultural exhibition is increasingly become internationalized, as more and more industry players from overseas join in. More than 10 countries and regions, including Sweden, Canada and Mexico, will be participating for the first time.
The annual event serves as a platform for government departments, enterprises and organizations from all over the world to participate in exchanges and seek cooperation in the cultural industry.
The fair will help promote cultural trade and investment between countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative by organizing a number of activities including exhibitions, forums, negotiation meetings and signing ceremonies.
The event is also an opportunity to promote Chinese culture internationally and increase the country’s worldwide influence.
