East China’s Jiangsu province convened a poverty alleviation and development work conference Tuesday in Nanjing.
The meeting pointed out that poverty alleviation and development in the province has entered a crucial stage for new breakthroughs to be made.
All localities and departments must conscientiously implement the decision-making arrangements of the central government, the provincial party committee, and the provincial government to ensure that the 600 thousand or more low-income people in the province will earn annual per capita income of 6,000 yuan or more, and the 200 economically weak villages will increase their collective income to 180,000 yuan or more.
The meeting called for enhancing political stance, adhering to the path of distinctiveness, highlighting high quality development, focusing on key elements, strengthening problem orientation for the promotion of the innovation-oriented poverty alleviation.
Vice Governor Miao Ruilin attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
