Zhang Jian, a 40-year-old Nanjinger, is a photographer. He is a member of Jiangsu Photographers Association and a member of Nanjing Photographers Team. An accident at the age of 10 deprived him of the ability to move freely and disabled him. Over the years, he has to rely on his special-made motor scooter to get around, which unfortunately couldn’t travel far and became a headache for him. However, with the encouragement from his friends, Zhang managed to try Nanjing's public transport alone, and was pleasantly surprised to find it far easier than expected. He said “I am from Nanjing, and I want to film the best parts of the city”.

The " My First Green Travel " theme photo exhibition was launched at Jiming Temple subway station in Nanjing on Jan 30. Nearly 100 photos on exhibit were all taken by Zhang, which meanwhile witnessed his whole experience with Nanjing public transport such as metro and ferry.

About the photo exhibition, let's have a look at a series of pictures.

Have you appreciated some traffic scene like this?

▲ Qinhuai River

▲ Nanjing EMU Station

▲ Xinzhuang Overpass

▲ The first metro trip, I took the biggest metro station in whole Asia: Xinjiekou.

▲ Hobbling down the stairs on crutches, I was immediately assisted by metro staff.

▲Around here, I saw many disabled people like me, and also saw the metro staff willing to offer their help.

▲I never knew that ferry would be the most convenient transportation for me. I traveled freely with my motor scooter.
