Train tickets for the 8th day of the first lunar month are available Thursday as the Chinese people have started to scramble for their coveted train tickets back home for family reunion during the upcoming spring festival.
China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Corporation is expected to send 24.9 million passengers in the first week after the Chinese New Year’s Eve, an increase of 14.2% from a year ago. To this end, 103 temporary pairs will be arranged, an increase of 24 pairs over the same period of last year.
The Harbin railway station will add 7 bullet train sets heading for Qiqihar in Beijing and Dalian and 3 conventional train sets on the basis of the 58 train sets.
No tickets are available for trains traveling during the first seven days of the first lunar month between Harbin and beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Haikou have sold out. Tickets for trains traveling between Hohhot and Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Harbin, Urumqi are all sold out. Few tickets are available for trains traveling between Guangxi and Beijing during the first week of the spring festival.
