The 22nd Taihu Lake Plum Blossom Festival unveiled on Jan 18, 2018. Suzhou Taihu Lake area is a renowned place for plum blossom appreciation. Plum growing originated from the Han Dynasty (202 BC-AD 220) in Xishan Island. During the festival, dancing, Pingtai and magic shows will be staged at Linwu Meihai Scenic Area, one of the country’s plum culture centers. A fair is held to offer local delicacies and showcase traditional Suzhou handicrafts such as wood carving, paper cutting and fruit pit carving. The festival will last until March.
