Miss Tourism beauty pageant-an international celebration of beauty, tourism and culture, kicked off its final of Jiangsu province in Donghai County Friday afternoon. The audience burst into applause as the beauties of past pageants and over ten contestants were on the stage to display their vigor and elegance. Miss International Tourism has become one of the largest and influential beauty pageants in the world since its debut in 1949. It has been held in 128 countries and regions. The contest also serves as a platform to educate and promote tourism and cultural exchange among the participating delegates, the Miss Tourism International has grown to be the proverbial vehicle; capturing the essence of the host country and its way of life through the eyes of these beauties. It was introduced into China in 2004.
