Wuxi English website (www.wuxinews.com.cn)
The "Charming Wuxi" English website, Wuxi's official English website, has won the lead award as a foreign language e-government platform from the Cyberspace Administration of China.
The Wuxi English website is the preferred source of information for English-speakers to explore the industrial and commercial powerhouse. Since the site's launch in 2014, more than 2,000 stories have been published, along with 1,200 photos, 25 videos and 19 special reports, in a total of three million page views, averaging about 3,200 per day.
With a goal of better promoting the city's brand to an international audience, a ceremony announcing an enhanced English language new media platform for Wuxi in Jiangsu province was held on Dec 20, 2017.
The upgraded platform will continue to report on Wuxi's development in all spheres using the latest new media technologies to present the storied eastern Chinese city to a western audience, said Liu Jie, deputy editor-in-chief of the China Daily website.
Apart from the Wuxi English website (www.wuxinews.com.cn), another three English websites have been built in Wuxi by the China Daily Website -- Wuxi New District (www.wndonline.gov.cn), Wuxi Binhu District (jiangsu.chinadaily.com.cn/binhu) and Invest in Wuxi National Hi-tech District (www.bizwnd.com).
All four of the English websites were awarded this time, which encourages the upgraded English media platform to better promote Wuxi worldwide in the future.
