Wang Huanzhong, a man in his early 70s, is from Pu’er city of southwest China’s Yunnan Province. He said as a child he began to learn about the Japanese atrocities during the Nanjing Massacre from his father who was an Anti-Japanese War veteran. Though mentally prepared, he was really shocked by the gruesome pictures that show the barbarity and savageness of the Japanese troops during the war.
The exhibition on the history of the Nanjing Massacre consists of eight chapters with the focus laid on the Japanese atrocities during the infamous Nanjing Massacre.
The exhibition reveals the historical truth from different angles by displaying the text messages, photos, movie clips and artifacts left behind by the westerners who stayed behind and launched the safety zone to shelter the Chinese refugees and disarmed Chinese soldiers.
China held its fourth state memorial ceremony for victims of the Nanjing Massacre in Nanjing last Wednesday morning.
Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the state memorial ceremony to mark the 80th anniversary of Nanjing Massacre.
