The world intelligent manufacturing summit kicked off Wednesday in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province. The 3-day summit attracted more than 300 enterprises.
Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, attended the summit. Wu Zhenglon, Governor of Jiangsu, delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony.
Zhou Ji, head of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, gave a keynote speech. Huai Jinpeng, head of the Chinese Association of Science and Technology and Liu Lihua, vice minister of Industry and Information Technology, also spoke at the opening ceremony.
The summit is sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Jiangsu Association of Science and Technology and the Jiangsu Provincial Government.
Wu Zhenglong said Jiangsu has entered an important period to accelerate its economic development under the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era by studying and implementing the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress.
The world intelligent manufacturing summit will promote integration of intelligent manufacturing into production and life, the governor said, adding that intelligent manufacturing is a great strategic opportunity for Jiangsu's future development and the province will bring into full play its advantages for the accelerated development of the Made-in-Jiangsu products under the intelligent manufacturing strategy.
He also expressed his warm welcome to the R&D institutes from home and abroad to launch business endeavors and startup ventures in Jiangsu.
Zhou Ji elaborated on the latest trends, basic paradigms, strategic paths and main objectives of intelligent manufacturing development during his speech.
Huai Jinping stressed the importance of promoting intelligent manufacturing across the field of interdisciplinary integration for the creation of the world's intelligent manufacturing innovation ideas, the convergence of frontier technologies and the breeding of high-end industries.
Liu Lihua addressed the ways to quicken the construction of manufacturing power, deepen the integration of manufacturing and information technology, promote the transformation and upgrading of industries, and foster new economic growth points.
Under the philosophy of Work to Integrate and Make it Smarter, the world intelligent manufacturing summit is launched to build an open and diversified platform for communication and cooperation among worldwide experts, scholars and industrial elites in respect of intelligent manufacturing, to promote the development of intelligent manufacturing in view of the new momentum of economic development and the progress of human society.
As the major orientation of Made in China 2025, intelligent manufacturing is of great significance to accelerate the supply-side structural reform, transform the manufacturing industry in an intelligent direction and push our industries to a medium-high end. He is full of expectation to the WIM Summit.
