A Party and Government delegation from Shanghai visited Jiangsu on Wednesday and Thursday for an inspection tour.
The delegation is headed by Li Qiang, secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and Ying Yong, Mayor of Shanghai.
Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, and Wu Zhenglon, Governor of Jiangsu, met with their Shanghai counterparts during the inspection tour.
On behalf of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and the Shanghai Municipal Government, Mr. Li extended his gratitude to the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the Provincial Government of Shanghai for the long-term support Jiangsu has given to Shanghai.
Li Qiang, who is also member of the political bureau of the CPC central committee, also congratulated Jiangsu on its new achievements and new progresses.
He remarked that Shanghai is stepping up its efforts for the study and implementation of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress in accordance with the requirements set forth by the CPC central committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.
Greater efforts are being made to push forward the development of the Free Trade Zone, the Science Technology Innovation Center and the Four Centers to turn the city into a modernized and international metropolis, said Li Qiang who served as the secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee for about one year before he was promoted to be head of the Shanghai CPC chief.
Li also remarked that the visit by the Shanghai delegation is learn from the experiences Jiangsu has accumulated in its innovation-powered development and the reform of the administrative examination and approval system for the promotion of the economic and social integration of the Yangtze River Delta.
Lou Qinjian extended his warm welcome to the Shang delegation, adding that Shanghai play a backbone role in the integration of the Yangtze River Delta.
He said Jiangsu needs to learn from Shanghai in terms of its promotion of the innovation-powered development and economic transformation and upgrading in accordance with the important instructions given by General Secretary Xi Jinping.
He also noted that Jiangsu is stepping up its efforts for the study and implementation of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress in accordance with the instructions given by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the overall development of Jiangsu.
The Shanghai delegation inspected the provincial administrative service center and the provincial industrial technology research institute to gain a deeper understanding of the reform of the administrative examination and approval system and the reform of scientific and technological innovation. The top officials from Shanghai were deeply impressed by Jiangsu’s exploration efforts for the promotion of the online administrative examination and approval procedures and the measures for the reform of scientific and technological innovation.
