An antique-style building stands at the corner of Shanghe Street Square beside Chengnan River in Pukou District of Nanjing, Jiangsu province. The building is one of the first-batch public toilets with unisex toilet rooms in Nanjing.
Unisex public toilets are set up for protecting the privacy of people with special assistance needs from someone of another gender, including the disabled with their relatives and parents with their children, as well as some disabled persons in need of special toilets.
In the unisex public toilet, there are urinals, light green mini-closets, handrails and mirrors especially designed for children. A foldable diaper-changing platform is also installed beside the washbasin in the unisex public toilet. When the platform, equipped with protective tools such as a safety belt, is unfolded, a mother can change a diaper or clothes for her child.
