A bus driver's good deed ensured a female college student from Kenya got safely home after she became lost in Nanjing on Saturday. The student got on Bus 202 at the Baixia Road stop at about 5:30 pm, but she was reluctant to get off the bus when it arrived at its terminal station. Not understanding the student’s language, the bus driver brought the student to meet Xiao Xian, head of the Bus 202 transport team, at the bus terminal station’s office.
By communicating with the student in English, which Xiao learned before the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, Xiao understood that she had arrived in China for the first time just three days earlier and was enrolled at the Jiangning campus of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA). She lost her way while going off campus that day.
As it was getting dark, Xiao and a bus station staff member drove the student back to the NUAA Jiangning campus in a private car. When arriving there, the student thanked Xiao for his assistance.
