Lou Qinjian has been appointed as the Party chief of east China's Jiangsu Province, replacing Li Qiang, who has been appointed as the secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, according to a decision of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
Li Qiang will no longer serve as secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CPC. He will be replaced by Lou Qinjian, who was formerly secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee. Qi Yu, deputy minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, announced the decision at a meeting of the cadres held Monday in Nanjing.
The meeting was presided over by Wu Zhenglong, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and governor of Jiangsu.
Lou said in his speech that he would fully support and resolutely obey the decision of the CPC central committee and devote himself to the work of Jiangsu.
Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the Jiangsu Provincial party committee has united the masses of cadres under the strong leadership of the Central party committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core and comprehensively implements the directive requirements of General Secretary Xi Jinping on Jiangsu's work to forge ahead and achieve remarkable achievements in the development of all the undertakings in the province, Lou said.
Lou also spoke highly of the achievements Li Qiang has made since he was appointed as the Party chief of Jiangsu Province by creatively implementing the decisions and deployments of the CPC central committee and creatively solving the outstanding contradictions and problems in the course of the development, which has laid a solid foundation for the promotion of the new situations, new atmospheres and new outlooks for the accomplishment of the development momentum in the new era and earned a high prestige among the cadres and masses.
