Li Qiang, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and director of the Jiangsu delegation to the ongoing 19th CPC National Congress, delivered an important speech at the delegation’s panel discussion Sunday morning.
The panel discussions elaborated on the report delivered by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee,at the opening session of the congress in Beijing on Wednesday. The delegates also dwelled on the work report of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the amendment to the Constitution of the CPC.Both documents were approved at the second meeting of the presidium of the 19th CPC National Congress held at the Great Hall of the People in BeijingFriday afternoon.
Li Qiang called for greater efforts to be made to earnestly study Xi Jinping's Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, to thoroughly implement thenew ideas and requirementsset forth in the report of the 18th CPC Central CommitteeconcerningParty self-governance and ensure the effectivedeployment of the strategies on building a clean government and anti-corruption campaign in Jiangsu.
The report listed 14-point fundamental principles of the Thought, ranging from ensuring Party leadership over all work to promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
The report of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection has embodied Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new eraand the new ideas and requirements on seeing Party self-governance exercised fully and with rigor, Li Qiang said.
Summing up the work objectively comprehensively withvivid details, the report of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection sticks to the numbers and facts for the systematic review of the discipline inspectionand supervision work in the past five years, which is inspiring and empowering, the CPC provincial chief said.
Li Qiang spoke favorably of the effective work carried out since the18th CPC National Congress by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and its subordinate agencies at all levels under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.
The amendment to the Constitution of the CPC, which has been submitted to the 19th CPCNational Congress for deliberation, has embodied the wisdom and reflected the wishes of the entire party, Li Qiang said, adding that he fully endorses the amendment.
The secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee noted that the amendment to the Constitution of the CPC highlights the Party’s guiding ideology that keeps pace with the times by combining Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new erawith Marxism, Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of three represents and the scientific outlook on development.
The amendment is the latest achievement of Marxism in China, the crystallization of the practical experience and collective wisdom of the party and the people, said Li Qiang, adding that it is the action plan to guide Chinese people in their struggle to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
