The South Jiangsu Zone of transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements has got the go-ahead from the Ministry of Science and Technology. This is the first of its kind in the country with the state level independent innovation demonstration area as the core. The demonstration area will become the national science and technology achievement agglomeration area and the radiation source to provide important support for the promotion of advanced manufacturing industry in Jiangsu. The CPC Central Committee and the State Council have recently issued the Opinions on Deepening the Reform of the Scientific and Technological System and Speeding up the Building of a National Innovation System. The goal is to fully implement the National Guideline for Medium- and Long-term Plans for Science and Technology Development, bringing into full play the role of science and technology in underpinning economic and social development, and accelerating the establishment of China as an innovative nation.
