Kunshan tops national list of the top 100 most economically competitive Chinese counties or county-level cities on economic development in 2017, according to a report on the scientific development index of small and medium-sized cities released on Monday. Jiangyin, Zhangjiagang, Changshu and Yixing, four economically competitive counties in east Jiangsu, are among the top ten on the list. Kunshan also tops the lists of the country’s top 100 counties for investment potentials, innovation and entrepreneurship and new type of urbanization. The evaluation index system is based on the new development concept, which is evaluated from four aspects, such as economic development, social progress, environmental friendliness and government efficiency.
