The first Jiangsu-Hong Kong Summit on Interconnected Development was held in Hong Kong on Sept 27. Li Qiang, secretary of the Jiangsu Committee of the CPC and director of the standing committee of the Jiangsu provincial people's congress, attended the summit and gave a keynote speech.
More than 400 people attended the summit, including leaders from the Hong Kong government, representative entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Jiangsu and celebrities from various social circles and youth representatives of Hong Kong.
In the evening, Hong Kong Chief Executive Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor met with Li, and they had an in-depth exchange of views on further promoting communication and cooperation between Jiangsu and Hong Kong.
Li expressed his gratitude to the Hong Kong government and Lam for their consistent, strong support of Jiangsu's economic and social development and Jiangsu-Hong Kong relations. He discussed the development status of Jiangsu, and noted Jiangsu and Hong Kong have formed a close partnership over the years. Hong Kong is the largest source of foreign investment for Jiangsu and also the No.1 investment destination for Jiangsu enterprises, he added, and the cooperation between the two sides in fields such as science, education, culture and social management has proved fruitful. Li hoped they will continue to deepen and expand the relationship.
