The 2017 Jiangsu (Nanjing) Copyright Trade Fair was held on September 15th. This years’ theme was “innovation · Protection · Sharing”. The opening ceremony witnessed the foundation of Jiangsu National Copyright Trade Base and presentation of awards to the outstanding copyright works of Jiangsu Province.

Jiangsu to build platform that aggregates copyright resources
Being the most important intellectual property, copyright is the foundation of knowledge-sharing and innovative development. The purpose of hosting Jiangsu (Nanjing) Copyright Trade Fair is to show the importance of copyright’s role in cultural industries. It is an essential step of Jiangsu that responds to the country’s strategic development of copyright.

In 2015, the patent conversion rate of corporations in Jiangsu hit 70%. The amount of exports in copyright industry was over 30 billion USD. The added value copyright industry was over 540 billion USD, taking 8% of the province’s GDP. The core copyright industry added value was over 300 billion USD. The industry now is in urgent need of a regular platform for copyright trade and regulations on it with Jiangsu’s fast development of copyright industry.
This year’s copyright trade fair aimed to fulfill 4 functions: aggregating copyright resources; transforming copyright into economic benefits; discussing copyright knowledges; and spreading copyright knowledges.

Creative ideas on well-worked copyright cases demonstrated in the locale of about 10,000 square meters
Taking up an area of 14,800 square meters, 2017 Nanjing Copyright Trade Fair consisted of14 regional venues and 8 professional venues. In hope of promoting exchanges and cooperation on copyright devevelopment, 200 units from across Jiangsu and China participated in over 50 schedueld activities to promote their ideas and successful cases.
Hosting this Copyright Trade Fair, Nanjing had an exhibiting venue of 784 square meters including Cultural & Creativity Part, Reading & Publishing Part, Cultural Heritage & Printing Part, Copyright Protection Part, and Arts & Performances Part. Cultural & Creativity Partexhibiteda set of 6 chinaware cupssuggesting Six Dynasties in Chinese history,which won a gold in 2015 National Tourism Commodity Contest. In Nanjing Folklore-themed exhibition, gold foil, bamboo engraving, paper-cutting and Mona Lisa on Nanjing Brocade all greeted visitors. Colored glaze decorations and mini-figurines from Kun Operas of Suzhou; porclain carving from Dafeng, hair embroidery from Dongtai; as well as wood carving from Taizhou were all on display.

Two groups of new media from Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation Litchi series and Ourjiangsu.com series also appealed the company of throngs of visitors even on the first day. Ace variety showWho’s Still Standingput on a live session of Q & A in the performing area on Sept. 16. Inheritor of intangible cultural heritageperformed his exquisite skills. Visitors “traveled across”Jiangsu Province in imagery with the help of virtual realtity technology.
