East China’s Jiangsu province signed Monday in Nanjing a strategic cooperation agreement with Agricultural Bank of China. Present at the signing ceremony were Li Qiang, chief of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu.
Before the signing ceremony, Li Qiang and Wu Zhenglong met with Zhou Mubing, chairman of the board of directors with the Agricultural Bank of China, and Zhao Huan, president of the Agricultural Bank of China.
The CPC chief extended his gratitude to the Agricultural Bank of China for its long-term support given to the social and economic development in Jiangsu.
Li noted that Jiangsu enjoys solid foundations in manufacturing and rich resources in science, technology and education with well-grounded basis in traditional finance and huge potentials in non-traditional finance.
The Agricultural Bank of China plays an important role in the country’s financial system by connecting the urban and rural areas to come up with advantageous sales channels, Li Qiang said.
The CPC chief also remarked that financial backup is crucial for the economic transformation and upgrading in Jiangsu.
He hoped that both sides would take this strategic cooperation as a new starting point to boost the cooperation on the innovative means of financial support for brick-and-mortar economy by combining the developmental advantages of Jiangsu and the industrial advantages of the Agricultural Bank of China for further cooperation.
Zhou Mubing noted that the Agricultural Bank of China will take the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement as a new starting point to give a strong impetus to the development of the brick-and-mortar business in Jiangsu by bringing into full play its own advantages and characteristics. Grater efforts will be made to serve the social and economic development in Jiangsu and make great contribution to the province’s transformation and upgrading, he added.
According to the agreement, Jiangsu and the the Agricultural Bank of China will enter into partnership in its strategic cooperation to consolidate and deepen their all-round, long-term and steady-going relations for the promotion of the province’s regional economy at higher levels.
Jiangsu will give support to the Agricultural Bank of China in terms of the innovation in finance businesses, technology, mechanism, organizations and structures while the Agricultural Bank of China will bring into full play its comprehensive advantages to provide all-round financial services for the sustained growth of Jiangsu.
