Today, we introduce you two candidates for role models of Jiangsu Province. The first one is HuiRuoqi, the player of China women’s volleyball team. The second one is Zheng Xiang, a community director in Yangzhou city, who is called “premier of the community” by the neighborhood.
In the 2016 Rio Olympics women’s volleyball final, China has defeated Salvia at 25 to 23 with HuiRuoqi’s perfect direct kill at the end.
HuiRuoqi was born in a family with sports traditions on March 3rd, 1991. Her athletic talent was not outstanding enough to be a good volleyball player. But with her perseverance, Hui got a huge progress in volleyball skills.
In 2006, 15-year-old Hui became a member of Jiangsu women’s volleyball team. In 2007, she was selected into the national women’s volleyball team. But in 2010, she had no choice but to leave the national team because she was seriously injured during a match, leaving 7 surgical nails in her shoulder. During the rehab, she still practiced regardless of the pain. A year later, she was back on track and made some major breakthroughs in international matches. In 2013, Lang Ping became the head coach of China women’s volleyball team. She made Hui the 15th team leader of the national team. That year, Hui was only 22. And in 2016 Rio Olympics, China women’s volleyball team broke into the final competition and eventually won the champion.
Wenchang Garden community in Guangling district is the largest resettlement residential area in Yangzhou city. Zheng Xiang, who has also been called “premier of the community”, has been working as the community director for 12 years. The community emergency telephone number that was founded under her leadership has received critical reviews from the locality. It’s a 24-hour emergency telephone number, ready to provide emergency services to local citizens at any time.
Moreover, Zheng has finished over 20 community projects like Leifeng Letterbox, charity supermarket, work inside the community, and nursing homes, etc. She also supported over 180 social organizations for their charity projects. And the working methods she concluded are the first ones in the province, even the whole country.
