The “2017 Jiangsu-Taiwan Media Summer Camp” was closed in Nanjing last Friday. 32 students from both sides of the Straits shared their video projects to conclude the 15-day journey.

As the major task of this media camp, the students were divided into 8 groups to finish a video project in 5 days. Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, being the host, assigned instructors to guide the students from selecting topics to editing videos.

The “2017 Jiangsu-Taiwan Media Summer Camp” was organized by Taiwan Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province and hosted by the International Department of Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation. 14 students majored in Media from Taiwan and 18 students from Nanjing University’s school of Journalism and Communication participated the camp.

To let students know what’s inside China’s media network development, Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation invited them to have an in-depth tour of the corporation. They’ve visited various departments of Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation to acquire a comprehensive understanding of how a television corporation survives and thrives in such a competitive market.

Apart from media-related experiences, the activities include a tour of Nanjing city as well. They’ve been to Gingko Lake Park and Kemflo Environmental Technology Corporation to know the development of Taiwan-fund enterprises in Nanjing. Other landmarks of Nanjing including Nanjing Presidential Palace, Confucius Temple, etc. are also on the visiting list.

Being one of the most connected provinces to Taiwan, Jiangsu Province has provided over 400 internships to Taiwan students in the first half of 2017. The “2017 Jiangsu – Taiwan Media Summer Camp” is the first to provide internship opportunities to media students from Taiwan.
