The Jiangsu Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese convened its 7th congress Tuesday in Nanjing. Senior leaders of the provincial CPC committee, the provincial government, the provincial people’s congress and the provincial committee of CPPCC presented awards at the opening ceremony to the organizations and individuals that have made outstanding contribution to the federation’s work at all levels in the province.
Li Qiang, chief of the CPC Jiangsu provincial committee, extended his warm congratulations to the representatives of the award-winners and conveyed his kind greetings to the returned overseas Chinese and the family members of Chinese nationals residing abroad.
The provincial CPC chief spoke highly of the positive contributions made by the returned overseas Chinese and the family members of Chinese nationals residing abroad, adding that Jiangsu is striving to boost its development through innovation-driven and prosperity-oriented practices for the formation of a more powerful, more prosperous, more beautiful and more civilized province so as to greet the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with outstanding achievements.
Li hoped that the returned overseas Chinese and the family members of Chinese nationals residing abroad will under the new situations be more committed to serve the motherland by uniting more closely their individual endeavors with the country’s future so as to make greater contributions to the country’s development.
Li Qiang remarked that the returned overseas Chinese and the family members of Chinese nationals residing abroad should make new contributions to the province’s development by striving for innovation and entrepreneurship, offering advice and suggestions, and promoting Jiangsu in a variety of ways.
Qiao Wei, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, made a favorable comment on the work done by the Jiangsu provincial federation of returned overseas Chinese since the hosting of its sixth congress.
He hoped that the federations of returned oversea Chinese at all levels in Jiangsu will conscientiously implement the instructions of the Central Committee on the work of the federation, stress political awareness steadfastly, promote the deepening of reform for development and make contributions to the overall situations.
Wang Yanwen, chief of the provincial publicity department and the untied work front department, called on the returned overseas Chinese and the family members of Chinese nationals residing abroad to bring into full play their own advantages and unique roles to be engaged in the province’s new development practices with strong sense of patriotism.
She also called on the federations at all levels in the province to perform their duties by uniting the human resources of the returned overseas Chinese and the family members of Chinese nationals and safeguarding their rights and interests.
