Chinese cyclist Dong Guijun arrived in Poland on Aug 5, in his cycling attempt to travel along the New Eurasian Continental Bridge.
Being a native in Lianyungang, Dong loves sport and to challenge himself, and even climbed to the top of the Mount Everest in May 2016.
“As my hometown Lianyungang is the eastern bridgehead of the New Eurasian Continental Bridge, I hope to ride bicycle through countries along the bridge and publicize my hometown,” he said.
Dong departed Lianyungang and started his 12,000-kilometer cycling trip on April 9. His destination is the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands, the bridge’s western bridgehead. To reach the destination he planned to travel through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany.
