The square dancing contest is sponsored by the provincial sports trade union federation and Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation.
Since its debut last year, the square dancing contest has grown into one of the five brand bane sports competitions under the auspice of the provincial sports trade union federation.
This year’s square dancing contest went underway in mid-April, drawing thousands of contestants from across the province.
100 qualifying contests were organized with regional finals slated for 13 prefectural cities and a final at the provincial level.
The Nantong leg of the contest is the first regional final, drawing more than 100 teams and over 1000 contestants.
Two teams were the final winners and they will enter the provincial final in November on behalf of Nantong.
