The Byte Grand Prix, happening from 5th – 10th August 2017 as part of the Nanjing International Sailing Festival, is going on at Xuanwu Lake, Nanjing, China in both Byte CI and Byte CII classes.

61 sailors from 4 countries and regions signed up for the sailing race that is another important world sports event Nanjing has held. The sailors range from adults to youngsters. Du Dilan, a 12-year-old American Chinese boy, took to sailing two years ago with his father taking the lead.

Chen Xingran, a 12-year-old girl from Nanjing, is no exception. She took to sailing at the age of 7 when she had barely learned to swim. With her sports suit soaked from sweating and her skin suntanned from exposure to sun, she has persisted in practicing and was honored with the champion for the women’s group in the 2017 Topper sailing dinghy in France.
