Li Qiang, chief of the standing committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, visited the provincial paramilitary police command and the pontoon bridge brigade of the Eastern Theater of the People’s Liberation Army to send the best wishes and holiday greetings to the troops on behalf of the CPC provincial committee, the provincial government and the people of Jiangsu. He made the visit on the occasion of the 90th birthday of the PLA.
On the first leg of his visit to the provincial paramilitary police command, Li went to the duty room of the combat information center to learn about the execution of tasks by the grassroots troops through the LED screens.
He also made inquiries into the actual combat training, the standardized execution of the duties and the normalized preparedness against war.
While conveying his holiday greetings to the troops, Li also extended his thanks to the outstanding contributions made by the paramilitary police to safeguarding social harmony and stability in Jiangsu.
Li Qiang went on to watch a TV documentary on strengthening army building and was briefed on the latest development of the provincial paramilitary command.
The CPC chief spoke highly of the outstanding achievements made by the provincial paramilitary command in recent year in every aspect, adding that maintaining stability is of utmost importance for Jiangsu to get prepared for the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
He urged the officers and soldiers to thoroughly implement the gist of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important speeches and his new concepts, new thoughts and new strategies on the governance of China to as to improve their war preparedness and provide strong support for the province’s innovation-driven and people-oriented development.
Li Qiang later visited the pontoon bridge brigade of the Eastern Theater and talked with the officers and soldiers at dorms and kitchens of the heavy pontoon company F. He also inquired about the training, study and living conditions of the servicemen, encouraging the soldiers to become the pillars of society by enjoying exercising and growing up in the military barracks.
Li Qiang pledged that the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the provincial government will, as always, give care and support to the modernization of the pontoon bridge brigade and other troops based in Jiangsu.
