Jiangsu Centre for the Performing Arts to open in August

    The Jiangsu Centre for the Performing Arts announced it will open on August 5 at a press conference on July 20.

    Its Integrated Arts Hall has 2,700 seats, and its Opera Hall has 2,200 seats, fully able to accommodate the world's top plays or operas. The 1,500-seat Music Hall has the only professional pipe organ in Jiangsu province.

  

    As a modern professional theater covering opera, music, dance, traditional Chinese opera and drama, the Jiangsu Centre for the Performing Arts will stick to high-end artistic taste and focus on introducing famous operas and works.

    More than 30 domestic and foreign plays or operas will be staged from August to the end of this year. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will offer two plays in Nanjing in late October. In addition, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra concert conducted by Zubin Mehta, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra concert conducted by Valery Gergiev, and the China National Symphony Orchestra concert conducted by Tang Muhai will also stage performances this year in Nanjing.
