Two inheritors of Su embroidery from Suzhou New District have been honored as Chinese arts and crafts masters, meaning they have been officially recognized as experts in their craft, according to a list released by the China Light Industry Council on May 14.
This is the first time that Su embroidery inheritors from the district have received such an award.

Su embroidery originates from Suzhou and is known as being together with the Hunan, Guangdong, and Sichuan embroideries as one of the four most famous embroideries in China.
Zou Yingzi and Yao Jianping, the two inheritors, combine the beauty of Su embroidery with their own brilliant techniques and characteristics.
