Jiangsu people welcome New Year in variety of ways

With the first ray of sunshine in the New Year, people from all over the province participated in running, hiking, and other colorful cultural activities, embarking on a new journey with a high spirit.

On the beaches of various parts of Jiangsu, people welcomed the first ray of sunshine in 2024 and made their New Year's wishes.

At 8:00 am on Monday morning, more than 4000 athletes from the government, universities, and enterprises gathered here at Nanjing Qing’ao Village Square to start the first fitness run of the New Year.

In Suzhou High Speed Rail New Town, thousands of participants joined the fitness run with an intelligent team of 17 cars opening the way.

In Yangzhou, 30 teams gathered at Sanwan Park to participate in a fitness run and embark on a new journey.

At the Maoshan Scenic Area in Jurong County, more than 200 citizens and tourists climbed the mountain, praying for a year of blessings.

The rich and colorful activities presented a unique holiday experience for tourists. The Xiangwang Hometown Scenic Area in Suqian city held a New Year's ceremony to pray for blessings for tourists.

The opening ceremony of the city gate was held in Maliang Ancient City, Funing County, with bells and drums playing together, dragons and lions dancing together, and performances such as dance, acrobatics, and martial arts winning rounds of applause.

On the newly-opened ski resort in Huai'an, adults and children experienced a different and enjoyable world of ice and snow, including snowmen, snowballs, snow karts, and ice and snow slides.
